I recently had the privledge of traveling to Joehannesburg to speak at Tech4Africa on JavaScript and Twitter. Following the conference was a two night stay in Madikwe at Tau Game lodge. This is the sunset from one of those evenings.

221/365. I have plans to change — so consider yourselves lucky ~ (paraphrase from old science fiction movie)
Everyone, this is Chris Thomas of Hollywood. He has kickass techno music you should listen to. Take a gander at the link and press play.
Anyhow, as everyone knows, I'm nearing three days behind on posting photos because I took a brief trip to see the Premiere of Inglorious Basterds on behalf of Twitter. Damn, what a kickass movie.
Small related side story — I got to walk on the red carpet, camera in hand... pissing off A LOT of paparazzis! Be sure to clickity to see the photo and full story on that ;)
And of course most importantly....

Half of me was expecting ET to fly by, but I knew that wouldn't be possible without a full moon so I gave up trying to look.

view on black
Shot 10 minutes after sunset on the island town of San Pedro. I was out on a dock and set it on the ground (no tripod). Plus the dock was the only place to get away from mosquitos.
24-70@24mm f/4 8seconds @ ISO 500 (for added dynamic range) + circular polarizer. vignetting and border added in Photoshop.

This is the view from Hangar 1 Distillery onto Downtown San Francisco nearing Sunset where the fog begins to roll in over the city as you can see far off in the distance. Shooting buddy Dave Cohen was able to get a nice one of this view as well.

Belize: Where the weather is always this awesome and the sunsets are beautiful. This photo was taken handheld (setting up a tripod would have been a mosquito nightmare) near the sunset hour (close to 6pm). The secret to this one was the circular polarizer tilted slightly left and setting WB ~ 5K. The kids were kind enough to let me take pictures of them while they practiced on their body board.
