25/365. It's like feeding crack to your eyes ~ Me
Today was our first time out of the home with the strobe gear. This shot was taken in an empty lot near 24th & Valencia (you'll see exactly where this is the map).
Anyway, there are three others shown previous to this one in my stream. Be sure to also check out Erin's shots from the same evening.
camera info: Nikon D700 | 14-24mm(f/2.8G)@20mm | ISO 400 | f/7.1 | 1/200s
strobist info: Nikon SB600 @ 1/1(full) power | about 60° to left about 10' high into a 45" umbrella | flash to subject ~ 6' | subject to background ~ 5'
Cheers everyone. See you tomorrow.

22/365. I'm twenty two, don't know what I'm supposed to do
or how to be, to get some more out of me
I'm twenty two, so far away from all my dreams
I'm twenty two, feeling blue ~ Millencolin
I know, that was a massive quote for today's 365 photo, but deal with it! On a more important note, I finally decided to lift my camera up from the ground... and it was rather pleasant. And on another note, it's Thirsty Thursday! So right after I post this photo, I'm gonna have a few sips of Allagash, then head home (on a bus, of course).
Also, I'm horribly sorry I haven't visited many of your streams too much lately. I've been quite busy with work, life, and strobe experimenting. I promise I'll eventually get to everyone soon enough. See you tomorrow (or possibly tonight). Cheers

20/365. Hope will never be silent ~ Harvey Milk.
Alternate title: "Milk, it does a Gmail good"
Today's photos is just an extension of staying up late again, which officially qualifies me to take a photo for the day.
Harvey Milk was the first openly gay politician to be elected into office in California.
Happy inauguration day everyone. See you tomorrow.

18/365. Oh Forlorn
During the afternoon on a lazy Sunday, Erin and I replaced the white sheets, with black ones up on the curtains. We immediately took advantage of it with a little studio session. We took a few hundred exposures between the two of us. And even most, we'll still keep. Nevertheless, we figured we should still share some for you flickrer's. And thus concludes day eighteen (like 18 year olds (but not really)).
If you're interested in seeing really really embarrasing and flattering photos of me, head over to Erin's flickr stream. Cheers everyone, have a great rest of the weekend.
strobist info: ISO 200 | f/16 | 1/200s | 45" convertible umbrella low and direct Genesis 200 at full power
wardrobe info: 1940's original vogue dress. Japanese pare*umbrella. Tea cup is fine bone english china. Gloves are old torn stockings refurbished with pink glittery buttons (added by Erin).

This was shot yesterday but I apparently misuploaded it... or never really did — I was tired and spent the night strobing it up.
Anyway, Erin paused for a minute to get a really cool shot of this thing. So if you thought this thing was cool looking from my end, see the shot she took!

24/365. There's twenty four reasons
To admit that I'm wrong
With all my excuses
Still twenty four strong ~ Switchfoot
Just barely made today's photo with only minutes to spare. Which means I've yet to miss a single day :)
Anyhow, this is Erin holding up a photo that we printed of her about a week ago. Nothin' special. We both had no ideas for a shot, so she decided to hold up one more interesting.
wardrobe info: a print from Ilford Galerie — smooth pearl paper.
strobist info: Genesis 200 @ 1/4 power | about 80° to left (very directional) about 7' high into a 45" closed umbrella — SB600 @ 1/4 power | about 90° to right about 5' high into a 45" closed umbrella

Another one from the batch. This is Erin with the lovely Meowx3 (meow meow meow). This cat, since she is black, is nearly impossible to get good shots of... because of her fur black. This, IMO, works really well because she's just slightly lit in a completely blown out background. It gives her more of that panther feel.
And of course Erin, looks good as always.

Taking a small break from the usual 365's, here's some portraits using our new lighting rig.
Technically speaking, Erin *was* in this picture all of but 2 seconds before the shutter went off. She leaned over to adjust something and I decided to go with this goofy face. You can see part of her elbow in the shot (near the logo watermark). In the end it turned out pretty fun.
This is part of a set of where we spent more time experimenting with our lighting rig. It's quite addicting and fun!
strobist info: Genesis 200 @ 1/3 / 45" collapsed / low and sharp left
