250/365. Teresa — I beg your pardon
This is Teresa, a friend of Erin's. Had a long family weekend... I have half the will to explain it and I understand I'm back by a few days. Live will go on. Baah.
On a astrisks note, I will no longer be posting to the strobist info group as per new rules which require text additions. In the meantime, I will continue to post fully documented photo setups....
speaking of that....

No really, view this one large. Do it already.
Oh, yeah, and I am aware of how 365 projects work — but after Sunday I couldn't bring myself to upload a photo of an IHOP coffee mug after something like day 242. It just felt wrong.
So... this is Tina again... as I'm pulling another one from the Sunday shoot.
As you might be able to tell, this shot also leverages a single SB-900 into a small 43" silver reflective at a whopping 1/16 power ;) What a difference a little splash of light can do at night.
Ok. I should really get off to my daily photo now (albeit sleep is knocking loudly at the door)

242/365. This is Tina — visit the train station yourself
Todays photo features a "twopher" (yeah, that means two for one... or something like that). Be sure to view the subsequent photo.
Erin and I (or I should say Flash Bullet) had the opportunity to work with Tina, a model from the Bay Area via a new contact of ours, Phu Nguyen, who provided the dress, and his wife did the makeup.
This photo was taken in front of the Trolly stop at Market & Powell, San Francisco inbetween trollys coming and going (and as you can see, one is coming right behind Tina).
You strobaholics.... get on with your thing...

214/365. Modesty Appeal — or reserved hotness?
Yeah, we could come up with titles all day. Anyhow, another night in the sketch. We had several drunken groups pass us by... some said nothing, others made themselves just look dumber.
man: "wooo! take it off!..."
man2: "are you guys shooting a porno!!??"
erin: "no."
man to me: "eh bro, you don't need a zoom lens if you know what i'm sayin'"
me: *raised eye browe & nod*

200/365. I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way ~ Jessica Rabbit (Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988))
Go to toon town and view large
So, it's been two hundred days. It feels like a decade ago since day 100, and even a distant childhood memory since I was eating crab on new years day with good friends.
Nevertheless, nothing will take away the fact of the present... of still being tired.
Tonight we watched Roger Rabbit on Netflix; hence the quote. It suited this shot quite well too.
And lastly, my wife is crazy hot. Too hot for strobist info on this 200versary day.
Cheers!

182/365. Don't you ever come around here ~ Michael Jackson (Beat it)
You don't want to be a boy, you wanna be a man
Still on a MJ kick — This toy model suited this week's theme quite well (I just made up this theme, btw).
I'm really tired so I'll spare a story.

171/365. Never, never gonna give you up ~ Barry White
have a dance
Despite avoiding "Crazy Mike" (a drunkard passer-byer who wouldn't leave us alone), we managed to grab a shot for the night. Erin bought this new under dress thingy (that's the technical term) from Betsey Johnson (same place where the wedding dress was purchased), and it makes for pretty awesome twirling! :)
But of course it was freezing and windy outside so this had to be done quick.... so this is one of four shots we got out of the series.
Alright... and on with some Q & A from emails...
Q: "The distances, flash power settings, aperture, and ISO settings don't match Guide Number (G.N.) of your flashes in your diagrams... help me understand?"
A: Anyone curious enough to break down my shots from the strobist info set may often scratch their head around the numbers.
If you've tried to duplicate these setups, take special note that there are other things that contribute to altering light such as light modifiers themselves. This includes the umbrellas, softboxes, and gels. Not to mention in other cases you have to account for feathering, whereby when a light is not directly pointed at a subject, but simply feathered off in another direction.
Q: "What font is that in your photos?"
A: Although answered a dozen times, it's Trajan Pro. It's a very pretty serif font. I recommend "if" you're going to use it in your photos, you should at least buy it (I did). There are a million other fonts out there, try some of those.
And finally, for the strobaholics, read on...
