Everyone, this is Shakuntala. A client we shot this evening who graciously allowed me to post one from the series for the 365.

Not only that, it was her request that we get a shot of her jumping. With that in mind, I only asked that she "jump like this" - and this is what came of it.

And yes, this is yet again the famous charcoal making another appearance. And with proper white balance, you can get this deep blue.

Lastly, the lighting for you strobist freaks (that's what we are), you're looking at a lighting setup pretty darn near this setup with some extra help from Erin.

And holy crap. It's December. See ya tomorrow.

I brought my camera to work this morning in hopes to catch some nice downtownish shots. It was too foggy. So I waited until after work and let what the D3 does best.

Regarding this shot, believe it or not, only took about 5 takes.

However the best part is that you're usually not allowed to do commercial photography in this area, yet I was able to get the security guard to take my setup shot!

Kay. Let's do this...

207/365. I believe I can fly ~ R. KellyI think about it every night and day

Today, Mexico beat USA 5 - 0 in a futbol game. Why do I know this? Despite Twitter telling me so; the Mission District has been going crazy all day with the honking and the noises.

Anyway, I had a strobist info video... but it's time to get back to my lazy sunday.

strobist info: 3 x SB-900 @ 1/1 (or rather, 3/1?) into 28" softbox camera right.

187/365. To hell with responsibilityforget reality

Today's shot wasn't exactly fun. It involved climing up to Noe Valley, combating wind, saving falling softboxes, and jumping off a brick wall several times over.

By the time I got home, at the least, my beautiful wife had dinner ready :)

Anyhow, this particular shot was meant to have an old school film + HDR look. It is of course, best viewed large, and looks.... not so great at this 500px size.

I continued on with the video series for the info, although, it's a bit lacking in detail because I couldn't find a proper place to mount the lightstand without it falling over, so I stuck it in some bushes. If anything, it's worth checking out for a good laugh at how lame things were put together.

One final thing to note, this was an HDR taken with a single raw file by simply duplicating the file with different exposures (for anyone that wondered how to get action HDR shots with one image).

{edit note}: this is very different from my usual work. by no means am i an HDR expert, or even an enthusiast. But this is what 365's are for. I am bound to churn out some weird crap in hopes to learn a few things along the way.

145/365. If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people jumping up and down for joy ~ Frédérick Jézégou
(take a leap yourself)

Everyone, this is Cameron who traveled from the Google Sydney office for the week. We've been friends for quite a few years now... and just to bring back 'ol memories, we thought it would be fun to do a pun on "Cameron" and "Diaz" and something with our shirts off at a bar. To this day that photo has over 200,000 views from the last three years. I wonder why.

Anyway, this shot was taken near The Stinking Rose at Columbus & Broadway. This is what happens when you feed Cam some hot chocolate.

Today was a good lazy relaxing Sunday. We had brunch at Foreign Cinema then watched cartoons and took pictures the rest of the day. Yeah. Pretty good day.

Photo by Michael Leggett. Photo shown here is "as is," straight out of the camera on Program Exposure (and I fine job it did) on vivid, high contrast. The timing and angle was all Michael. The goofball flying up the air, well, that was me.
