Erin took me out to dinner tonight to Chez Papa Resto. It was good, but also interesting (but not worth explaining the "interesting" part).

I brought the super chub (interim nickname for the 200mm ƒ/2). Our BART train wasn't due for another five minutes, so I pulled it out and snapped a few of Erin. And holy crap is this thing amazing. It's tack sharp and the blur is just so naturally gorgeous.

Finally got back to work after a long weekend. I've been pondering whether or not to start a photography blog since I now have a giant pile of thoughts in my head all involving subjects about photography. Some such as "metaphors to explain exposure," "how photos speak words," "how to apreciate a photograph," "why you should not marry your brand," and "shut up and take pictures." If any of those topics sound interesting to you, give a shout out. Happy Tuesday everyone.

6/365. Man without a best friend. Off in the background is Dave Cohen without his dog, Sparky. Dangling from his right hand is Sparkys leash. No, nothing happened to Sparky, he's just not in the frame. Dave and I roamed for just a few short minutes and briefly discussed "what the heck am I going to shoot around here for 365 days! Luckily it's still Fall and there's plenty of leaves. It's kind of hard *not* to take pictures of leaves... and so there you have it; this is day six. HBW Eve everyone. See you tomorrow.

Again, as my 365 project approaches, here is my 2nd photo before the project officially begins on January first. This was shot in downtown San Francisco near Market and Powell as I waited for Erin and Stephanie to finish shopping in a nearby department store. There wasn't much outside aside from the thousands of people (which I mostly wanted to avoid). Instead there was this lonely red bicycle which begged to be shot. I only took one photo of it, then casually walked away — surprisingly it turned out to be the best of the night.

Yes — It's that time of week again. It finally rained in Mountain View for the first time in ages. Many leaves fell today, but those that remained were subject to shooting.

13/365. And things are automatic when you see them everyday ~ Less Than Jake.

Today I worked at the Google San Francisco office (no leafs in the city) which requires a little more of a walk, but definitely more opportunities.

The photo you see here was *not* set up, and for some reason it told a nice story for me. A few people walked by wondering why the heck I was shooting a spilled cup of iced cream. It was, nevertheless, worth it for day thirteen. SYT (see you tomorrow) and HBWE!
