21/365. This guy is the worst burglar I've ever seen. He's drunk ~ Twenty one jump street (1987)
Everyone, this is Cooper. Another dog that trouts around our office. He often plays with Sparky, so I figured one day or another, eventually he would find his way into my 365. And thus this conludes day twenty one. Happy Bokeh Wednesday everyone.

This was shot yesterday but I apparently misuploaded it... or never really did — I was tired and spent the night strobing it up.
Anyway, Erin paused for a minute to get a really cool shot of this thing. So if you thought this thing was cool looking from my end, see the shot she took!

12/365. So take this moment Mary Jane and be selfish ~ Alanis Morissette.
Today I received my new Nikon hand strap (not made in USA (buy them from Hong Kong on Ebay)). I have to say, it feels much more natural holding my camera now... even though the instructions say you can't use it with a D700 + MB-D10. For Canon, Sony, Pentax users, this works for you too and I would highly recommend it if you can't stand those annoying neck straps.
Anyhow, about the photo, the leaves came back despite the gardeners raking them up. I shot them, reviewed the photos, and they were lame. Just near the end of my little 10 minute walk, I came across these little dealies in the grass. I know, I know, there's already a bajillion on flickr already, but this one reminded me of an Alanis Morissette song. I think it fits quite well.
Oh, and how do I say "See ya'll tomorrow" without saying it everyday? Cheers for the twelth day.

9/365. Hey, I can dig it, man. ~ Platoon. Today was photo friday, ironically it falls on the most uninspiring day of the week. I shot with Braden, Marcin, and Emily. I started off with the 24-70... but eventually switched off to the trusted 50 and got what I wanted... and now I'm ready to go home and watch cartoons. Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend. See you tomorrow.

6/365. Man without a best friend. Off in the background is Dave Cohen without his dog, Sparky. Dangling from his right hand is Sparkys leash. No, nothing happened to Sparky, he's just not in the frame. Dave and I roamed for just a few short minutes and briefly discussed "what the heck am I going to shoot around here for 365 days! Luckily it's still Fall and there's plenty of leaves. It's kind of hard *not* to take pictures of leaves... and so there you have it; this is day six. HBW Eve everyone. See you tomorrow.

5/365. Today was the dreadful return to work day after having such a long stay-at-home-and-do-nothing vacation (which btw, was awesome). This is the infamous Sparky (The Gmail Dog (who belongs to silicon monkey)) during his brief recess time outside. He absolutely loves this his ball (like many dogs).
Nevertheless, it was a successful fifth day. I shot a few flowers that I thought would be nice... but then I thought "I've already shot like a thousand flowers!" — and clearly, I have no shot Sparky enough. Cheers! And Happy Monday :/

78/365. One Look, and that's all it took to send me to another galaxy ~ Jonas Brothers (Out of this world)
I'm enjoying the two light front & back setup for a lot of my toy shots. However I'm hoping I just don't turn my brain into auto mode whenever I can't think of a shot and immediately turn to setting up random lights. My brain is turning into mush as I type this so let me quickly post the info.
strobist info: Nikon SB-900 @ 1/32 into 43" reflective 5' away camera right. SB-600 @ 1/64 thru grid spot onto glass bar in the back. triggered with PW's

48/365. Like quicksand, I'm always getting deeper.... I'm down in the Mission ~ Less Than Jake
Finally got back to work after a long weekend. I've been pondering whether or not to start a photography blog since I now have a giant pile of thoughts in my head all involving subjects about photography. Some such as "metaphors to explain exposure," "how photos speak words," "how to apreciate a photograph," "why you should not marry your brand," and "shut up and take pictures." If any of those topics sound interesting to you, give a shout out. Happy Tuesday everyone.
