325/365. I know sentences — with real words too
I figured it's time to do another video treat for everyone. A lot of folks want to know how to create simple, yet elegant photos without crazy dramatic lighting (like 90% of my photos), plus this video answers yet again that timeless question "How do you pre-focus the camera when doing a self-portrait?"
Well here you have it.
See the strobist info video!
and of course for you old shulers (that's me trying to be hip and say 'old school')... here's the classic setup shot.

260/365. I should have made you leave your key — If I'd have known... you'd be back to bother me
It's the night before I leave for two weeks to Europe... (Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, London). Got a flight in a few hours.... must pack.
Bye.

235/365. Got time to wait for tomorrow — To find it, to find it, to find it ~ Stone Temple Pilots (Plush)
Alas I've returned from the weekend. and if you were wondering, I still managed to take photos each day despite not remembering even taking them. I just knew that I needed to shoot something before stumbling back to the bedroom for sleepy times.
Anyway, here's me in our studio. And for those wondering, those aren't new shoes, I just decided they fit a little better than my Nikes.
And one small piece of news, Erin and I will be visiting London and Paris near the end of September. That means Julius, look out! We're comin' your way!
K. Follow the light...

219/365. He dreams — do you?
Tired of this face yet? Too bad. It seems as though the more people follow my work, the more off the wall comments I get. So with that in mind... a few things:
1) Don't tell me how you would have "fixed my shot." When I'm looking for advice, I'll ask.
2) Please, please, please don't leave images, logos, awards, unicorns barfing panda rainbows in my stream. I'll delete your comment, even if you say nice things about my big beautiful eyes (ok, I kid, but seriously)
3) Avoid inviting me to your group. I post to very few. As a matter of fact, I recommend in my profile that folks should "unjoin" several groups and stick to a few they're passionate about.
4) Avoid dumb questions that can be answered by Google. Eg: "What's C.T.O.?" Seriously, the first result is a link to the strobist blog.
5) I have no idea where all this barking came from, but I'm tired, so let's see some strobist info already :)

206/365. All those angels with their wings glued on ~ Smashing Pumpkins (Cherub Rock) — Who wants honey?
First, yeah, there are a couple photos missing from my 365. Need not worry, they're on my hard drive... somewhere. The more important thing is that I was taking photos on those days.
Anyhow, here is Erin - showing her mischievous side. As a matter of fact today, a man drove by yelling at me saying "Duuuude! Watch out! She's poison!" Erin happened to have been wearing this.
Regarding strobist... no need to document this one it's been done all too much.

202/365. We mean Biz — See the plan in detail.
Today was a scheduled photoshoot with Biz & Ev. Those photos are being personally delivered to the two of them for various press purposes etc.
I pulled this one out of Biz because it's just a great shot of Biz in an informal setting and really describes the mood of Twitter.
I could describe why this photo works so well with having all the busyness yet calm focus. But there's another reason why Biz's hands are twirling quickly, which is because there are fresh sandwhiches directly behind me (lunch time).

194/365. I used to be a stereotype ~ Less Than Jake (Portrait of a cigarette smoker) — there might be a next time
I hope you're not getting tired of this face... because this is what happens on the long days without time. I pondered taking the setup shot... but there is nothing special about this one. So I'm cuttin' out early. G'nite.
happy strobist-info-free vacation

185/365. ... just a man with something to prove... slightly bored and severely confused ~ Postal Service (Sleeping in) — Meet Robert
Robert is a swell and fantastic guy. He's a do-gooder and maker of awesomeness. This includes visual design, music, and witty banter. My only hope is that the day he decides to publish a music album, that Erin and I get to shoot the cover art. His music reminded me of The Postal Service — just without vocals. It's really that good.
The quote, too, is fitting, if you knew him.
Anyhow, today was supposedly American Independence Day. We skipped out on any parties and had some champagne of our own. It was fun.
Finally, don't miss out on the other photo from the same night of Erin and May-Li. See that here.
Alright you strobist junkies...

284/365. I am a Skunk Funk — so what do you think of that!
Old hat, and new skunk funk glasses. Shot in the kitchen. Hope everyone had a great weekend. See you tomorrow.
