360/365. Leap of faith — can also get you wet

I took the train downtown to take this one shot. No lights. No fancy setup. I shot it. Went back home, then stared at it for 20 minutes on my screen.

I have no idea what it means... which means we could conclude that I'm clearly run dry of daily ideas.

I'm telling you, as soon as the new year hits, I'm sleeping for a week straight.

Omagad, my wife is so hot. Really, you've got to view this photo large to truly appreciate it.

And she totally rules for taking off her sweater in the cold, windy fog above the Marina at the Lyon and Broadway stairs.

Also, she just got this new Marc Jacob's skirt with vintage top.... it's like lingerie, but for public outing. It's awesome.

185/365. ... just a man with something to prove... slightly bored and severely confused ~ Postal Service (Sleeping in) — Meet Robert

Robert is a swell and fantastic guy. He's a do-gooder and maker of awesomeness. This includes visual design, music, and witty banter. My only hope is that the day he decides to publish a music album, that Erin and I get to shoot the cover art. His music reminded me of The Postal Service — just without vocals. It's really that good.

The quote, too, is fitting, if you knew him.

Anyhow, today was supposedly American Independence Day. We skipped out on any parties and had some champagne of our own. It was fun.

Today was the San Francisco Mission Carnaval. Tens of thousands of people along with a mass slew of photographers were out today which makes it difficult to get any shot. It was unclear whether you needed a press pass to get into the middle of the street — cops were everywhere watching the sidelines... but there appeared to be an unwritten rule that if you had a big enough camera, you could waltz right in (no pun intended).

Anyhow, this is the Energia do Samba dance group with a friend of ours shown center of attention. They were all awesome.

OK, this was mostly Erin's idea. All I said was "I wanna get a picture of you two in the middle of the street" — then Erin took it from there. I handed the light to Dan, adjusted the light settings, then fired away. I apologize for the Britney Spears quote, it only seemed fitting ;)

102/365. This is real Easter

Ok, Ok. So we all have a different definition of Easter. Quite honestly it was another "end of the day" photo, and we had some guests over and I had the chance to do a little mini shoot on Mission st. Everyone, this is Jina and Stephanie. This shot was taken next to a laundrymat near 26th & Mission. We had quite a few different passer-byers... one in particular who said "Ef You B! — What now!??"..... yeah, it was weird.... Anyway... in the end, it turned out good.

It was nearing evening as we rushed home from Pauline's Pizza to catch the last of the sky. We missed most of it, but the D700 was able to pull most of it back out at ISO 1,600. This was shot on top of our roof again, this time with a little bit different of an outfit... but made a reintroduction to those damn sweet boots. So I've made it to day fifty. Can't think of a more fitting photo than to march (ha, get it!) on the Capital!

So today I've been asked to be a guest blogger on SLR Geek which ought to be fun. It will be a great place for me to nerd out with other gear heads. Granted it sometimes takes the fun out of photography, but I always enjoy a little shop talk every so often. I'll let ya'll know when I have some posts up. Cheers everyone!

191/365. Linda Wu — Meet Linda, it's her birthday

As usual on party nights, I tend to not get these up until the next day. We celebrated a birthday of our friend Linda. We made her stand out in the street while Erin held an umbrella and I snapped a few away.
