353/365. Free Mickey — and let him fly

Everyone, this is George, Sherry, and...well... Mickey.

George and Sherry are recently engaged, and they thought they should bring their best pal Mickey to Aquatic Park with them.

80/365. Queen of Apocalypse

Today we (Erin and Dave and myself) went on a day trip for Dim sum, then to the Santa Cruz mountains for wine tasting, a brief stop for coffee and tea, then lastly the beach for a mini photoshoot. In the end, it was quite an awesome day.

This photo is a combination of vivid Nikon colors and a vibrant flash. Extra contrast was added in post-production.

This is Dave, and he's most definitely thinking "... never thought I'd be on a boat..." — mainly because of this SNL video. It was our anthem for the day.

Shot 10 minutes after sunset on the island town of San Pedro. I was out on a dock and set it on the ground (no tripod). Plus the dock was the only place to get away from mosquitos.
24-70@24mm f/4 8seconds @ ISO 500 (for added dynamic range) + circular polarizer. vignetting and border added in Photoshop.

Belize: Where the weather is always this awesome and the sunsets are beautiful. This photo was taken handheld (setting up a tripod would have been a mosquito nightmare) near the sunset hour (close to 6pm). The secret to this one was the circular polarizer tilted slightly left and setting WB ~ 5K. The kids were kind enough to let me take pictures of them while they practiced on their body board.

This is one of several from our honeymoon to Belize. Here I am at a dock on the San Pedro beach.
