It was awesome.

Now I must continue to enjoy this vacation.

283/365. Saturdays — shall I make you a Sidecar?

I learned how to make a Sidecar yesterday. Hence, yesterday. Made myself (and Erin) two of them.... snapped a quick shot of one of them before I slowly lost all inhibition.

On another note, I was told that days 200 - 300 were going to be the hardest. Not only that, after the vacation I still haven't quite developed my routine again. But it's all good, I'll get to the end in no time at all and will have to pick up a new habit.

190/365. Mas tequila por favor — would you like a glass of cheap tequila?

I don't actually recommend this tequila. It's been sitting on our shelf for quite a while... meanwhile a number of silver patron's have came and gone.

Anyway, it's late, as usual... and I'm fading fast. It was shot late in the evening, well after Erin went to sleep....

188/365. One of those days — enjoy a margarita too?

First off, it really was one of those days. But on a brighter note, I make good margaritas. I've taken tips from quite a number of people, collectively gather bits and pieces from what other people say is "the best margarita" — well, get over yourselves... because I now officially make the best margarita. Stop trying. Oh, and arguing on the internet will only give me more ideas (hint hint ;)

Anyway, on the news front; the return of stubby awaits in a package tomorrow! Oh how I miss him. Look forward to some good 'ol stubby shots

Today I thought I'd throw together a "special edition" strobist info shoot seeing as how Erin let me borrow the 5D2 again — I figured I would take advantage of its video-taking capabilities. And lucky for you, Flickr limits videos to just 90 seconds (otherwise I would ramble on forever).

Other than that, it was a long work day (from home). I didn't come in to work because of a strained achilles... my guess is that I'm not used to walking (to work) so much. By the end of the day, however, I felt I simply had to get out of the house to snap a quick shot around the corner.

Tonight was interesting because I literally took a gamble. I packed three lightstands, three flashes, three gels, and the stubby (and of course my camera). I left the umbrellas and softboxes at home and really thought "what the hell am I going to do?"...

Even after I decided I liked a spot, I setup each lightstand still not knowing why... then randomly found a paper bag on a bench with an empty bottle of Patron inside. I pulled it out, set it on this water drain grill thingy, then spread apart the lights... took a snap.... liked it... slightly adjusted the lights, then snapped again... and this is what you see now :)

So today marks a buck and a quarter :) And with the colder misty weather outside, I decided to stay inside (but mostly because I'm lazy and didn't want to put on a shirt).

Nevertheless, we picked up this wine near Sonoma in Healdsburg at J Vineyards. This is their dessert wine. It's awesome.

My favorite part about this photo is the natural rust appearance coming from the window (no post-processing filters required!). It really made that giant moon bokeh ball stand out quite nicely

100/365. This is one hundred days

You "must" see the stunning detail

Today celebrates the 100th day of my 365 project. It's somewhat of a milestone for me, so I figured I would put in just a tad more effort (which of course involved the stubby. Considering I lugged ALL this stuff outside was more than a miracle.

Nevertheless, as much as I'd love to ramble, reminisce, and ponder about my personal journey through the 365... let's just say it's not over. Cheers to 265 more days!

Another lazy sunday where Erin and I spent an evening with Cindy, Seth, and Pablo. We had a great fake dispute over natural light versus artificial light. Turns out I didn't get a single strobed shot, but everyone else did. I did however manage these few shots in a bar using the window light near sunset.

This is my strawberry margarita. It was lovely.
